History of Paranormal Activity:
A man, many believe is the ghost of Jorris Haarstad haunts the Aerie Ballroom. Full body aberrations of a man resembling Jorris has been seen on numerous occasions. Strange sounds and voices have been heard by employees and visitors for years. There is also an indication that there may be one or more children present.

About the Aerie Ballroom:
A man, the previous owner of this building, was named Jorris Haarstad. It was called Haarstad Hall when he and his wife owned the building. It was originally The Centralia Eagles Aerie number 512 when it opened in 1926. Jorris and his wife also founded The Centralia Beauty College which is still here on our ground floor some 40 years later.

History of Paranormal Activity:
Louis Galba who had rented a room at the hotel formerly on this site. The hotel burned in 1908, and Louis jumped to the ground from his second story room. He died a few months later of his injuries.

Candles mysteriously lit; rearranged chairs in basement; falling ax; music drowned out by mysterious tune; a man's laughter has been hears echoing in the building. A ghost nicknamed 'Elmer' has been seen standing by the cast iron stove. It is thought that this ghost could be of Louis Galba who had rented a room at the hotel formerly on this site.

About the Historic McMenamins Olympic Club and Hotel:
The bawdy Olympic Club opened in 1908 as a "gentleman's resort," and had a barber shop, shoeshine stand, cafe, bar, card room, pool room and cigar counter, complemented by urbane furnishings such as Belgian crystal and Tiffany lamps. Kopiah was a town in Lewis County, located 8 miles southeast of Centralia. A post office there began operating in 1906. The 1910 census shows 298 individuals, but the 1930 census shows only 115. The post office ceased operating in 1928.

Tono, is a ghost town in Southwest Washington. It was a company-owned mining town founded in 1907 by the Washington Union Coal Company, a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railroad to supply coal for their steam locomotives. Tono was located in southern Thurston County about 20 miles south of Olympia, 5 miles south of Tenino, 2 miles east of Bucoda at the end of a railroad spur. The town was named Tono in 1909 by one of the many Japanese railroad workers. At its peak in the 1920s Tono had over 1,000 residents, 125 houses, a hotel, a hospital, a general store, and a school. The town flourished until 1932 when the railroads began switching to diesel locomotives and the Union Pacific sold the mines to the Bucoda Mining Company.
