The Gates of Hell — 5/20/2009

The Gates of Hell sit along Sawmill Rd., outside of Downingtown. The location earned its name after a pair of rod iron gates, painted blood red, that stood guard outside of a long driveway leading up to a huge estate. The property consisted of a house, a swimming pool, and a garage. There is also a small lake that sits near the estate, which is closed off by a rusty old fence.

The spot was a supposed scene of a gruesome murder/suicide that took place somewhere in the 1950's; the story goes that a mentally disturbed father killed his wife and children with his shotgun, drug their bodies down the long driveway and hung them on the barbs of the rod iron gates. Then, he turned the gun on himself.

Many thrill-seekers drove to the gates late at night; it is said if you drive past the gates, your car would stall until it is outside the gates and back one the road. Well heres the real deal about the Twin Tunnels after extensive investigation and long hours of reserch i have come up with many answers to many question about why the twin tunnels are a "haunted location." first let me warn the twin tunnels are a gate way!!! meaning a gate way to hell most of the photographic evidence that i have gathered has futher proven this. in many of my pictures i have caught demonic faces, hell hounds and The Gateway. Every gateway has a gardian, if you are disrespectful the gaurdian will let you know. When he does you will not enjoy it. the main cause of the eithreal activity that goes on there is due to the river runing throught the second and thrid tunnel. water especially running water is a lubracant or a universal conduet which makes it much easier for spirits to manifest them sevlves. the stone and brick as well play a roll in the trapping of spirits.WARNING if you wish to venture into these side tunnels please do so with ... Creek Rd off of Boot Rd in DTown. Two tunnels connected by a sliver of open space with a wire connecting them. Stories say that a man hung himself from the wire. At the entrance (going towards boot rd.) spray painting of a suitcase with an arm sticking out pointing down. Writing by painting says "help me". it was pointing at a suitcase on the ground filled with a females dismembered body parts.
