My friend tells me that he has had many experiences in his house. He gets the most out of his entire family. Some of the thing's he has told me is that sometimes he will hear people talking in the kitchen, he's heard his name called in a very faint voice, and he's even seen a figure one time that looked like a doppelganger of his father. One thing that his whole family hears sometimes is a huge crash in their storage room in the basement. We have done our own little investigation in the storage room a couple years ago, and we didn't get any visual evidence or voices but we did get knocks, and noises. it wasn't very successful. There was this one time when we were filming a movie and when I came down the stairs and went into the hallway you can clearly see an orb go straight over my head and disappear, there were two orbs while we filmed in the basement. wheni was in 3rd through 4th grade i lived in this house no one lived in it i had weird experiences.the first one was in the living room when my family was having a family game night ( we were playing guitar hero) whe it was my bros turn he was playing and i was sitting on the fouton and my parents were sitting on the couch and right next to me it was like a minute after my bro got up a dent as if someone was sitting down accoured and my parents lookd at each other and didnt say anything the next one happened often and we have 2 flights of stairs connected with a landing.i got pushed from the top of the stairs all the way down to the second landing. the next one was in my room i was laying in bed and i saw a dark figure crouching staring at me on my art stand, and at the same time i saw a dark figure walking down the hallway to my room and walking up to me and disapper and do it again. i also had trap doors on either side of my room and they would open and you have to really pull to... First, I will start out by telling you all that I am NOT saying that this funeral home is haunted. I am just telling you about what I experienced and sensed. Just because there are spirits that rome this funeral home, does not make it haunted. More or less, I`m just curious as to what people think and if they have had similar experiences. A few years ago, I was unfortunatly forced to attend a Wake of a family member that ment a lot to me. Washington Elementary is located in near the center of Owatonna. It sits on the site of the former high school. Many years ago, the old high school had burned down. It`s rumored that the fire was caused in a science room. Some time later, after the site was cleared, Washington was built in 1952. During the school year of 1991-1992, the school was remodled to accommodate additional classrooms, an art room, a large gym, extra restrooms, a staff room, a computer lab, and a vocal music room. The school again had gone under some minor remodling in 1999. An elevator was added at the Broadway entrance, the office was moved to the bottom floor and the old office was transformed into a learning center classroom. The stage in the gym had also been removed to allow extra storage space for all of the P.E. equipment.

CASHMAN PARK — 8 acres
Cashman Park was acquired in 1970 through a land exchange between Jack Cashman and the City of Owatonna. The City exchanged land, which it owned west of the Rock Island Railroad, for eight wooded acres now known as Cashman Park, which is accessed from N.W. 26th Street.

The first use of this area for a recreational purpose occurred between 1975 and 1978 when the Tonna Bowmen Inc. used the park for an archery field range. Vandalism of the range in 1977 led to the eventual decision to discontinue the operation of the range.

During 1979, the City accepted from Mr. Cashman, outlots A and B in the Lismore Addition No. 2 as additional access points to the park. These ten feet wide outlots were donated primarily to provide pedestrians access to the park from 4th Avenue N.W. and 23rd Street N.W.

Story 1: My brother—n—law was sleeping in the bedroom with his face down. While in the dark, he began to feel baby feet walk on his back.

Story 2: My sister was sitting on the floor watching TV with a mirror leaning against the wall. From the corner of her eye, she thought my mom pass by from behind her. So she followed along to talk to her, but she realized that my mom was still in her bedroom. She and my mom were the only ones in the apartment.

Story 3: I was in my bedroom and I turned off the lights as I left. Minutes later, I realized I forgot something in my room. So I go back and realized the lights were on. I thought that I might have forgotten to turn them off, so I turned them off again. Hours later, I go back in my room and realized that my lights were on again. I was all alone in my apartment, so I quickly rushed out of my apartment.

History: The Owatonna Senior High School was originally built back in the 1920`s. Additions were added on the original building in the 1950`s and in the 2000`s. The auditorium is apart of the original 1920`s building and is where the haunting takes place. Above the stage, the lights, the travelers, valances, and the scriem are all held on several battons which used to be attached to a wooden grid from the 1920`s. As the years passed, the wooden grid started to become unsafe in certain areas. All of the sets from the plays and the musicals are built and ran by a student crew from the high school.

The Story: Late on a Friday night (around midnight) back in the 1970`s, the play crew was working to finish the set for the play. You can find Mineral Springs Park located on the East end of town. The access points to get into the park are Cherry Street and Mineral Spring Pkwy.

Mineral Springs was originally the home of some Indians that had lived there in the 1880`s. The City of Owatonna had aventaully purchased the entire park in sections and made it into a city park. Coming to Mineral Springs Park at night is not recommended. Many have reported feelings of strong negetivity, and orange glows of light have been spotted up in the wooded hills that surround the park.

Ghosts of orphaned children haunt what used to be an orphanage.

West Hills was also used as a state school and as an orphanage. There are many underground tunnels. A lot of these tunnels lead from the orphanage/state school to the employee`s residents. The majority of these tunnels are now caved in due to safety reasons. There have been several children that have died at West Hills... Infact West Hills has its own children`s Cemetery. There have been many claims that the 3rd floor of West Hills is haunted. Witness`s have reported the wooden floor warping in front of their eyes, the stench of a thick cigar smoke, and the laughter of children down in the tunnels that are still open. Phone calls have been made to the Owatonna Police Department from the West Hills building when no one was there. Kaplan's Woods is park in the City of Owatonna with a rich history. Kaplan's Woods used to be owned by the Kaplan Family back in the 1800`s. In later years, Kaplan's Woods was donated to the State of Minnesota. In the late 1990's the Kaplan home that was originally on the land was demolished. Perhaps all the restless souls in Kaplan's Woods are those of the Kaplan ancestors. The Kaplan family loved the woods but many are buried in the Bohemian National Cemetary in Owatonna.
