I heard this story numerous times and what I had heard was that the white lady was walking along the railroad track carrying her baby and she got hit by the train and her baby flew out of her arms and every year on halloween night on a full moon, she comes back looking for her baby!
Pond bank isn’t in Fayetteville it is its own town .i don’t want to give out were I live but I live very close to the pond so close about 30seconds away if u walk. I have lived in pond bank mi whole life and I am 14.i call the pond the white’’ lady’s pond” but anyway I go by there every day and I have drove by and even saw her about 7 times .she isn’t any thing true but isn’t anything to be afraid of that is unless u try to make her mad. I’ve herd multiple stories about her like that she got murdered, her baby had droned by swimming and that her baby got hit in the car from a train. &MANNY MORE. One thing is u should never swim in the pond...EVER.. because when the pond was a swimming hole. mi great aunt said one other friends and her went swimming and her friend got pooled under luckily she escaped and later said she felt a hand pull her under but the only people in there were her friends! Never had an encounter with her but I have seen her 7 timess.2of mi family has had encounters and I hope to because I am a really curious person. Well this about it except pond bank is very haunted .it has a miner ghost<I had an encounter with>, witches<never had encounter with ><Indian burial ground <never had an in counter><, and the white lady... What ever you no about pond bank it don’t matter but never underestimate its paranormal activity.

This old town was a mining town. The old dirt road that runs beside Pond Bank is called Irishtown Plantation Rd. There was an old settlement back there at one time. Iron Ore was mined from the pits until the water would start filling into the pits. It was said that some of the miners would see little red pigs with red eyes that would lure you close to the pit and try to pull you in. Witchcraft and devil worshiping also took place in that area 100-200 years ago. The white lady, I am convinced is something very evil as well as the pigs, bird, or any other creature that anyone has encountered there. A man that once lived close was attacked by a strange creature with pointed ears. His legs and knee was torn up badly. He shot and buried the creature, and when he went to show a friend what it looked like, he dug up the makeshift grave and the creature was gone. As far as I am concerned, the white lady and anything else back there shouldn`t be messed with. It is pure evil.
I am married to a man who grew up in Pond Bank, His mother told me that the white woman was really a man Named Ross Wagaman who worked at the foundry in Waynesboro and was very badly burned . He would where the only thing that was comfortable for him to bear his pain, Womens night gowns. Sometimes at night when he wass unable to sleep he would walk outside in the air to find releaf from his pain. The white woman story is just that simple.
Take Route 30 west from Chambersburg,PA. Turn South onto 997 and you'll come to a point where you'll drive through a small patch of woods. On the other side of the woods is Pond Bank. Take the last dirt road to the left before you leave the wood and at night and through with your headlights off.
I used to go up there 20+ years ago and...uh...drive around or just sit and watch around me. One particular night myself and two friends were with me in my 1971 Ford pickup and one of them had to go to the bathroom. So I stopped (on a slight dry dirt hill) and he got out and went to the bathroom. When he got back in the truck, the truck wouldn't go. It just sat there and the back tires spun as if I'd be stuck in the mud. Both of my friends got out and pushed until my truck went forward. I drove up a little bit until I saw a clearing to turn around so I backed my truck into the clearing and felt to me like I hit a tree stump. I got out and walked behind my truck and looked underneath for the stump and there was nothing there. We hit so hard that our heads flew back and hit the window!! Needless to say, that was the last time I went there.
