Location Description:

In the late 1800s there was a city its name was happy valley its is said it was a fairly big city. Until the black plague came and seemingly wiped out this city. Now very desolate there are roads thru out 5000 acres of land were "no won lives" there are many sightings of paranormal activity. If you where to get lost on one of its many roads you would be seemly lost for days. Back in 1976 there were some friends driving thru and they stumbled upon a skull one of them put in the rear of there car while they were driving the eyes of the skull lit up bright red. They were spooked and never returned since. To this day no won will go alone on any giving night.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	happy valley is the freakiest place ive been i have experienced paranomal activity there, some say the school house was the most haunted area of the happy valley territory, i have experienced some very freaky things on that property where the school house once was, as in logs being thrown against trees, hearing voices, seeing lights at the bottom of the well, and when you get out of your vehicle you immediatley got the feeling that you're being watched and get instant cold chills, ive been there and done EVP's and have actually communicated with the spirits

AnonymousVisiter U US	i agree...i went 4 wheeling there with my husband and knew nothing about the place, in fact i thought that i was kind of cool. we stopped to take a break smoke a cig and go to the bathroom. That is when this weird feeling came over me...the feeling of being watched, but no one was there. my husband thought that it was all in my head, but it wasn't. It was the creepiest feeling i have ever had and i couldn't shake it. needless to say i couldn't wait to get out of there. Haven't been back again. and do not ever plan on it....

AnonymousVisiter S US	A friend of mine stubbled upon the blaze and called the fire dept. He claims it was a cult group. If you notice when you go there, there's no cell phone service hardly, but when I entered the cemetary, I had full service. The second time I went, I had no service. It was strange, not to mention laughter from the far end of the cemetary.

AnonymousVisiter ** -	Actually-I don't believe there was a city called Happy Valley. There were quite a few farms there and my husband's grandmother used to live there in a place called Sand Bank. About the skull-actually I know about that. It was NOT found-it was dug up! The kid actually put it in the back window of his car with lights in it. He got in a lot of trouble over that! (Not his brightest move!) Actually-he's a relative! It's a great place to go 4-wheeling. Actually people DO live there and there are some camps. Vandals have wrecked lots of places and did indeed burn down the school house. I hope they find who did that! It was very historical!!!!! DUMMIES!!!!!

AnonymousVisiter ** US	Did you know 2 days after the fire when the ashes cooled and the Altmar fire dept was investigating the cause of the fire, the bones of 6 human child size skeletons were discovered in the ashes below the foundation of the chimney. Not to be alarmed! it was also soon discovered the bones to be over 100 years old . Although markings and fractures on the skulls indicated foul play, it was determined well over the statute of limitations for an investigation into the cause of death or the persons responsible. It was also determined most likely to be the 6 area civil war orphans that disappeared from the area in 1867, the first year of the schoolhouse No. 11 to be used to educate the children from the settlement of Happy Valley in the town of Albion NY. I have frequented the area for many years and vaguely remember conversation of my grandparents referring to the disappearance of the 6 children ,It was believed they had been swept down the Salmon river and washed into lake Ontario. According to the report of a local farmer who is said to have witnessed the incident in the summer of 1867. Who as it turns out was the caretaker of the Happy Valley cemetery, and local carpenter . I have spent nights in the one room schoolhouse and have heard the bell ringing through the walls. I have been awakened to children drawing on the chalkboard that seemed to vanish when I appeared. Although their writings and pictures remained on the board usually with initials and dates. I for one believe these were happy ghosts as there was always laughter to be heard . Plenty have claimed the place to be haunted and Erie but I always felt the presence of friendly spirits,until my last visit to the remains of the schoolhouse .The air is still , quiet and not a bird to be seen or heard. the trees have all died and the ringing of the bell has turned into moans. For some reason the schoolhouse six are no longer at rest, and yes I to feel sorry for those responsible for burning of the schoolhouse. Their day will come.

AnonymousVisiter	I have held my tongue until now, but feel a higher power within me urging that I come forward. At the request of the owners of the schoolhouse, I was asked to stay at this schoolhouse in April, 2002. The reporting of paranormal activity within the walls of the structure had long concerned them. They found themselves withdrawing from their trips there and were increasingly disheartened by the acts of what they deemed to be vandals. Yet in the back at their minds there was unsettlement as they were not oblivious to the tales of the hauntings. I was asked to perform qualitative research at the property. By recording EMF (Electromagnetic Field) readings at the haunting location, coupled with participant-observation, I found my first evening to be relatively mundane in nature. On the second evening, the levels elevated but what was more astonishing for me, the observer, was the childrens’ singing to be heard above anything else. I was awakened at 6:50 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, April 20, 2002, by the fierce ringing of a bell. I then heard what sounded to be the galloping of horses, appearing to be circling the schoolhouse, which I was inside of. The room lit up as if there was full electrical current running through it at a very high voltage. The building shook with great force and I felt that the roof was going to cave. I took the best shelter that I could and prayed that I would survive. Within seconds, that felt like minutes, the event subsided but not without damaging my equipment. Every camera had fallen off a mounted wall location, smashing lenses and busting open. I am not a professional but the study of paranormal activity has been a long-hobby and interest to me. I do feel there is a entity of some sort within the confines of this school house. The fire that occurred on the property the summer of 2008 may have been someone’s attempt to rid the spirits, but it is known that it is the soil of the earth from which they come, not a dwelling. Therefore it is my conclusion that it is reasonable to assume the spirits remain present. If indeed there were human skeletal remains discovered concluding the fire, this property was a burial place. The spirits will never leave, be they friend or foe.

I've been doing research on it for a couple of years now, Not just about the creepiness of it but about the entire history. Although I have yet to find any information on why the town disapeared. I do know that it is possable that everyone just moved away because of the large distance between the bigger towns back then. I've only been there once at night and it was deffinatly spooky. Like the fact that we only drove about 45 minutes into the area but it took us almost 2 hours to get back to the main road and we didn't get lost. I also found a website (can't remember what one at this time) that said that the carpenter wasn't right in the head and could have been the one to kill those children and then sealed them into the foundation so they wouldn't be found. One day soon I hope to build a full blown website dedicated strickly to the history of Fraicheur (Happy Valley) and all it's happenings. AnonymousVisiter	I went to this place in 2006 with a friend that lives in area she knew all the roads and let me tell you we took pictures and drove for hours and there is deff something there we heard dogs barking and there were no dogs around for miles trust me. Also we saw a shadow of a man smoking on a log way out in the water. Just a very odd place.

I have the road system about 70% mapped but cant get my car down a few of the roads, I will be using my bike to map the rest, so I hope to find the church, I think I already found what was left of the school house, burned to the ground if that was it, their is an abandoned trailer next to it? AnonymousVisiter	I have hunted in happy valley many years. One day while hunting I saw an old guy with long white beard wearing overalls and a wide brimmed straw hat looking at me. It startled me because I didn't hear anybody approaching and he was just there. I looked around quickly to see if anyone else was in the vicinity and when I looked back to where the man was he was gone. So I ran to the trail he would have appeared from and no one was in sight. It was as if he just vanished into thin air

Mind you I'm the only person who knew there use to be a school there until it got burned down. We had a voice recorder and I took some pictures 10 mins into the investigation my brother said "Dude I hear a swingset", then it clicked about the school yard....shortly after we hear what seems to be a woman or a dozen women screaming...We got up and ran the F*** out of there!

scott84 Last Seen: 1/29/2012 3:38:37 PM	Me and my group went out to Happy Valley last night. Very weird place thin roads gravld roads. Very easy to mess up your tires. I took some pix but keep in mind we never left the car safty first. I got a few orbs in some of the pictures. We were only on the main road we did not want to wonder and get lost out there. I recorded some footage with my camcorder but nothing. We werent there as long as I wantd to be Ill explain in a minute. When we were going back down the main road to go checkout some of the trails a truck came up behind us. Then my emf went off when we were at the end of the road it spiked to a 1. Then we took off cause this guy was tailing us. When we were off of the road my emf almost spiked to the top I cant explain that. Eventualy the guy turnd off. We did not go back were looking for ghosts not weirdoes. The emf spikes is the most ebodence I have on the place.

At one point it felt like someone had budged against me I looked to see if it was my fellow investigator but he was 5 feet from me. I was the one who uploaded the picture. I dont know for sure if this place is haunted or not. No EVPs the EMF spikes can be debunked cause it goes off when were in the car. I think it was reading off of the radio thow it was not on. AnonymousVisiter ** US	Happy valley is in my back yard I have lived here my whole life and have stayed the night in the valley and have yet to see or have anything weird happen. The school house did burn down last summer because little drunk kids have no respect for anything. People also live in the vally their are at least 4 house in their. They also have a boys out camp in the valley that's near the church. My grandma has told me stories about the happy valley hookman who killed some kids along time ago but could never find any proof. Weird things have happened I'am sure but it really is a beautiful place to drive around on a boring day...... It just sucks that stupid people are taking away the history by burning down the buildings !

AnonymousVisiter	My family owns 'gramp's camp', the little one room cabin. It was part of the larger farm that my ggrandmother was forced to sell off in the '20's when my ggrandfather died, along with many others of the House family and relatives - due to the tough economic times. The property has been in the family for almost 200 years now, given to one of our House (Haus) grandfathers for fighting in the Revolution. My grandfather built the little cabin in memory of our grandfather who came to the Valley all those years ago, around 1820, whose original cabin sat closer to the east end of the road closer to the old schoolhouse where my grandfather went to school. I have been going to the Valley all of my life and my grandfather was born and raised there, I have never encountered - or heard stories from my family - about any strange things. I often wander around my ggrandparent's old house lot where the house and barn foundations still are. Sure, you hear the coyotes howl in the middle of the night and it echos through, and swamp birds scream, but nothing else - well yes, you can hear the bands playing on the weekends from the East Coast Resort in the summer. The problem that we have is vandalism, unfortunately. Whether it be broken windows, graffiti on the walls, candles being burnt on the floor, to even having the back window broken out of my father's pickup one night by a car full of kids as he was sleeping in the cabin.
