Location Description:

It is a 5 mile road with no street lights or houses. It is all forest. It is said that back in the old days devil worshipers and members of the KKK used to worship up there and kill children as sacrifices...it is said that if you drive down the road at night you can see the children walking and there is also a bloody blanket. it is a very eerie feeling. June 2005 Update/ Correction: The story of the KKK and satanic rituals is most likely false. Rumors are told that at some point in the past it was told that a man had been wrongly convicted of committing murder. Either as punishment or in holding before his punishment he was placed in a small shack at the end of Whiskey Hollow Road. Due to some mysterious circumstances the man died in that shack before his execution or during his incarceration there. Stricken with the grief of not only his wrongful conviction but also his untimely death his wife hung herself on a tree down Whiskey Hollow Road upon hearing the news of his death. Many claimed the tree still stands there.

I have never investigated it and am not sure where I would even begin! I guess that I will have to check it out.

AnonymousVisiter * US	A buddy of mine and I recently started shooting a documentary which we are calling "for lack of better reality". We decided for part of it to take a trip across upstate NY and try and hit the 'most haunted' places we could find online. We Drove down and back Whiskey Hallow at 10pm with a video camera. The area is most certainly creepy as all hell. There is a very deep eerie vibe about the place. At one point we saw a white flashy figure for a brief moment on the right side of the road, and we also heard a distant whistling. There where also dogs barking on both sides of the woods, though this could be local dogs. We have some video feed but unfortunately it isn't night vision so its mostly black but we are in the process of going through it frame by frame to see if there is anything in them, and if there is I will certainly post it. You may also be interested in Jacksonville Cemetery. It is a creepy little place, and we have some video feed of an orb like light in the woods. [ 69.48.66.174]

I might have been just imagining things, but I could have SWORN I seen a little boy off in a woodsy area, over by one of the water.... uh.. pipe things.... but the "little boy" disappeared at second glance... but... either way, each time I went there (which was maybe... ten times, my dad likes it there) I always got an eerie feeling... In the day time its a very nice place to climb and ride dirt bikes and what not, but at night you get a whole different feeling. I drive down that road almost every night around 11 with my friends.. its just peaceful and beautiful. Plus with them being in town and believe the stories its fun to freak them out... Any place that is so secluded and untouched like that will always have an eerie feeling to it... Nothing is haunted out here.

I highly doubt that spring runs red during a full moon, and if someone insists it does, go there and bring back some video and a sample cause seriously there are far more haunted places in the world than whiskey hallow ::cough:: Winchester house ::cough:: and stuff like that doesnt even happen there. Went to Whisky Hallow, yes its creepy, probably haunted. Saw a smoke-like figure off to the right in the woods and heard some wistling. unfortunatly none of this got caught on my camera.

AnonymousVisiter	I have gone to whiskey Hollow for a series of like 19 years, and every time i got i get that creepy feeling everyone mentions. 2 years ago my buddy Brian and I decided to stop there after visiting 13 curves. We were very excited so we actually got out and climbed up on the cave ( this was like two thirty in the morning on some full moon in the summer). we were having a good time until the car shut off and we didn't have light. when we finally found our way back to the car the keys were on the dash board. We probably hit 80 getting out of there after that. After 19 years though that's only like the second experience I've had up there. Definitely was on of my scariest ones though!

I've never seen so many in one place. Also the time of day we went, and the light filtering through the trees. One of our ladies volunteered to hang from a tree for a photo but we didn't have any rope......We started on the cave side but ended up back on the road so we crossed the creek and found some traild on that side.

Its woods and dark so i figured it ment ta scare people but after continuing to go down this road everyone that does thinks this place is a big joke its not ive been there probly 20 times and the last time i went down there my car shut down like a former user said and it was a clear night no rain no fog although the further i went down the more fog there was and out of no where a kid is just walking down the side not aware or even worried about my car!! after that i went a lillte ways turned my phone on and turned around to take pictures and there was nothing there from there i thought wow this is really weird and freaky but i had to go back but mostly i go during the day! there was also said to be a cabin in the woods aways back where the KKK went to worship devilistic things and a couple of my friends and i went there deep in the woods looking for this site that we HAD to see!! No luck because it was getting dark although the further back we had gotten we had seen many marked trees with KKK carved into them. The carvings looked really old so we followed them hoping to discover what we had went there looking for although all we found was a big drop down to more marked trees! freaked out from it becoming dark we ran back and left worried only about coming back another time for better luck! Believe what you want people and say what you think bout this place but you dont know anything until you see and feel everything Whiskey Hollow brings for yourself!!

We came to this dirt road on the left hand side coming from Dead Creek Road so we took a left and we went down this dirt road. It had curves and potholes.. but it seemed pretty short and seeing the pictures during the day it didn't seem like the road. At the end of the road we got to a sign that sign road closed 6pm-7:30am or something.. followed by a stop sign at a T intersection. Were we at the right place?

Then Whisky Hollow Road on the right. There is a run down pink house on the left side of W Hollow Rd. Another house on the right. Then you will see the road closed sign and the Nature preserve sign. The southern flag shot was taken on Conners Road. Whisky is only about a mile and a stream runs along the side of it. It's a gravel Rd.

You see my grandmother lives on a St. just out side of the village called Canton St. Rd. and on this road years ago there was only well water and it tasted awful. So once or twice a month my grand parents and I on the weekend would go up there to collect the clean and great tasting spring water that does pore out of pipes in the side of the hill. Great water if you ever get the chance..Any way I digress, years later when i got my drivers licence i would bring friends and girls up there to give them a scare and tell them the stupid stories that were told to me..and i never belived in any of them. Now there are some trully documented things that have happened on this road. Some of these things are the story of the man in the late 1800s locked in a shed as punishment before his hanging. He died in the shed from dydration and his wife did hang her self from a tree on the road. There has been 3 dead bodys found up there which have been dumped there and murdered else where. So not to let anyone down that thought you could see ghosts up there i would say that im sorry your not, however Not to long ago me and my sons (ages 4 and 7) went up there to clime in the cave and get some water like i use to as a boy and on our way back to the car my oldest boy says to me "Daddy wheres his car" and i asked him who where the only ones up here and he responds "that little boy right there following us" So I spun around and see nothing. I bend over to my yongest and ask him what he sees really quietly in his hear and he also tells me that little boy with his grandpa..and now I'm a bit freaked and yell out is there any one here? Is there anyone that need our help? and in a wisper of a voice we all heard <yes>, This is what started my wife and I on a shurch for people like us that would like to document evidence of the paranormal... I think that could be any number of things, especially given the geology of the site. As for ghosts, figures, hanging dead ladies, etc... I have never seen anything like that. I have spent straight hours there, both throughout the day and night. I do believe in spirits and the supernatural, but as for Whiskey Hollow, it's just a great place of solitude and to take a nature walk.

I went to the railroad tracks awhile ago with my Girlfriend, my Brother and his girlfriend and we felt wierd vibes while we were there. Now i dont go out to much anymore like i used to. But sometime i will make an effort and go with you guys if you want to know about more haunted houses. Theres s house up by me that is haunted by a little baby boy and there is a headstone in the basement so people say that says baby boy on it. Its been empty for 7 years. I dont know if its safe inside though so you have to call the city of fulton to see about it.

It's very hard to see so you might mess it. So bring someone with you so they can find it. It will say Whiskey Hollow RD on the sign.

We ended up going into the woods (yes stupid I know) and we went off trail because we thought we saw something, we ended up getting totally lost for 2 hours and finally made our way out. The other one on Seventh is a different one called St Micheals that one is not haunted as far as i know but you guys can go there and check that one out too. There is a house on West 1st street that is haunted but it's not save anymore. Don't go there because i don't know how it is inside but it has been empty for 7 years. So i didnt pay attention in how we got out their. And theirs a cematary near Whiskey Hollow that is haunted. my friend had a digital camera and the first picture he took of the cematary had about 5 orbs in the picture. bye the 3rd picture we got this gray mist standing right in front of us about 3 feet. my friend freakd and had to get out of their. as I was leaveing i clearly heard foot steps behind me. i turnd around and their was no one their. i was nt scared it just fasanated me event more. but when i was on whiskey hollow road i was nt their long enough to exspeirience anything. which was a huge disappointment.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I've lived in Memphis all my life, about a mile from Whiskey Hallow actually. I bought a book in the travel section called Weird NY, when the gas prices were starting to climb and my husband and i decided to take small weekend trips instead of a pricey vacation. Anyways I was completely surprised when i saw that Whiskey Hollow was in there. It was like "wow, really?" I've played there since i was a little girl (they have really great swinging vines) we own land up there, i know everyone else that owns land up there, not to mention it's the best tasting water you've ever had, and my kids love to play in the cave. I can't believe it when i read all these stories. I've been there in the dark and the day time and never once have i ever had an experience like the above described. Anyways I have a good idea how some of these stories came about. In the early 1800's, the area around Whiskey Hallow Road was known as Satan's Kingdom. (Kingdom road to Kingdom Cemetary turn left and another left back on to Perry, past whiskey hollow where it turns back to Kingdom rd) It was called that due to a man who owned land and fought with his neighbors all the time. Basically it was named that out of spite, and was later changed to pleasant valley in 1814. So all the Satan Worshipping nonsense probably came from that. Now as for the hanging woman? Well i've honestly NEVER heard that one before. I do know that there were at least 3 shacks up there, however, everyone that lived in them died of natural causes as far as i know. And none of them were visible from the road itself, also if you do try to find the remains (or whats left of them) they're all on private property, so i wouldn't recommend it. And as for the women that were supposedly raped and killed up there. There was one. I remember it from when i was little and it only stuck in my mind because they didn't identify her until the day after the story broke, and that was in the late 80's early 90's. So i hope that clears some things up for everyone, and you don't waste your time looking for ghosts. I'll admit, it's creepy up there in the dark, but aren't all backroads that aren't populated and in the middle of nowhere kinda creepy? One cave looked like a robber was trying to cover his tracks by burning a sky mask. But on the way back this huge bird and I mean HUGE bird came flying out of the bushes, it had to be like 4ft tall. One thing I thought I saw I was standing on the road and in the distance at the corner of my eye I thought I saw a white figure cross the road. And legend has it that the ghosts of the kids cross the road. I had a tape recorder but it only lasted 5 minites till the batterys complytly died. Matter of fact a minute later is when I saw the thing in white. Maybe it draind the batterys to manafest. Like I said maybe.

We were hearing unexplainable sounds the hole time we were their. I took some pictures with a digital camera got alot of orbs. I event had a digital recorder but I got no EVPs. We would of been their longer but a truck pulld up at first we thought it was a cop. I think it was just someone probably geting some of the water. He was bye him self so god only knows what he was doing. The only thing that was weird was as cold as it was the water was not frozen out their just struck me funny.

It was burnt to a crisp by the time we got their. We herd weird noises the hole time we were their. We were their a while and decided to leave. We then decided to go to this cematary. It was no wair near Whiskey Hollow. We were their a little while. But we had to be carful cause their are houses pretty close to the cematary we didnt want to get in trouble. But before we were gonna leave right behind me I heard a loud sssshhhh right behind me I jumped out of my skin. I event got it on recording there was no one their I turnd around emedietly no body is that fast. We got no pics thow.

supervillan315 Last Seen: 4/2/2009 7:13:07 PM	We just got back, it was as the sun was setting, looked in the cave and its not really a cave just an outcrop. drove through in the dark and no erie feelings, its creepy looking just like any woods in the dark but no wierd feelings. also its only about a mile and a half so that should be changed. there are alot of old trees but not many seem suitable for someone to hang themselves from, not many low strong branches. over all go down gulf rd in chittenango its way better.

AnonymousVisiter H -	4/4/09: Directions from Syracuse area to Whiskey Hollow: Take Jordan/B'ville exit off 690W; turn left on Downer St.; turn left on Rt. 31 toward Jordan; approx. 3 or 4 miles turn right on Hoag Rd. (not far after Conners Rd. intersection); at end of Hoag take right onto West Dead Creek Rd. and quick left onto Whiskey Hollow Rd. (you can see the entrance to WH from end of Hoag Rd.). Recently someone has stolen the road sign but up a few yards there are signs marking the area. You can also take Warners Rd. (173) and take a right on 31 and left onto Hoag. Whiskey Hollow Rd. is certainly not 5 miles long, more like 1.5. It exits on the west side in an apple orchard on Perry Rd. near Kingdom. I have been there hundreds of times over the last 25 years or so for drinking water (it is the best) and have never seen anything weird. However, I don't usually hang around after. There is something mildly unsettling about the place. I remember a body being dumped there in the late eighties and probably there has been a suicide or two, but most of the ghostly apparition stories sound hokey to me. Don't get me wrong, I would love to believe them! The cave is not so much a cave as a hollowed out gravel pit; it is only 15 or 20 feet deep. It is near the spring. One whole side of the road is posted and you're not supposed to be there after 6:30 or 7, as signs indicate. I have never been there late at night, at least not since my teen partying years. My girlfriend, who accompanies me sometimes on my water fetching mission, has serious bad vibes there. She doesn't even like to get out of the car. A friend of mine saw on an old Town of Van Buren map the Whiskey Hollow area referred to as "Kingdom of the Damned"...Post pictures of these apparitions people!!

We found the so calld cave its more of a part of the hill that goes inword thats been menchined by other people. The only thing that I got was a picture with alot of mist in it. Out of the Ordinary Last Seen: 5/10/2009 3:24:52 PM	My friend and I checked out Whiskey Hollow Road for our website Out of the Ordinary- Central NY. At first, I didn't think there was much truth to any of the stories, but figured we had to check it out anyways. On camera, we caught a lot of weird stuff, like mist & orbs, in the cave. A lot weirder than any other place we have been so far. After researching a little bit, I was pleasantly surprised to find there is some truth to the stories!!! I found at least 3 articles that talked about the satanic or KKK rituals that went on in the 1980's. Apparently there were confirmed cross burnings, and a suicide that happened on the hill across the road from the cave. Locals were definitely afraid to go down the road, because they would be chased out and even threatened. Many were afraid to leave their houses at night. I have copies of 3 of the newspaper articles in pdf form on my site, go check them out if you are interested. You can also check out our photos and see what you think about them.

Ive taken pictures with a digital camera I got alot of orbs in one picture but that could of been a dirty camera lens. In another picture I got a lot of mist. But I rily dont call that ebadince of a haunting. One time I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye but my eyes could of been playing tricks on me. So everthing Ive gotten or seen their is arguble.

AnonymousVisiter I US	1)It's about 1.3 miles long. Not 5. 2)It's not haunted, people just let their imaginations run wild after hearing the stories. I cannot tell you how many times I have been there at night. 3)It's certainly not scary during the day. Our cross country teams run it for practice because it's a good hill workout. And considering we run up and down it three times, I can assure you it's not 5 miles. Or else we'd be running 30 miles. 4)There's an awesome apple orchard at the top if you're in the mood. 5)Yes, there are a ton of potholes so be careful driving through because there isn't a guardrail the whole way. 6)Caves are still open to walk through but they really aren't that cool. 7)Don't drink the water, it has traces of animal feces in it. Eww.

AnonymousVisiter ** -	Listen everyone i went there last night at 12:30 at night, and we saw some really creepy things. i have been there many times before at night but everyone i went with was to scared, whouldnt get out of the car, and wanted to drive fast. well i took my foot off the gas peddle and i was still going fast, maybe even faster and i wasnt doing it, then i stepped on my breaks and i started going again, and around the bend on the road something white went right acrosss my windsheild. i have been there during the day and i have seen the spot where the shack was. and i took some stuff home with me, and really creepy things were happening so a few nights later me and some friends went back out and thre the stuff we took, back into the woods and left. its the most creepiest place i have ever been in my entire life. i want to check out that cemetary!!! we should all make a date and meet up there one night & have a group of like 10 or 15 and go walking the trails, anyone up for it?! letr me know ill check back. refer to me as "Otty"

AnonymousVisiter ** US	the path on the right side near the end of the path (on the right side if you are coming from w. dead creek rd) goes up a steep hill and around a bend, then stops. i was there last night with my friends to show them something. last time i went there, my friend and i saw an SUV go up that path, so we decided to follow it. we never found the suv with the men in it, but we DID happen to find a clearing with bras forming a circle around the clearing, with holes in the bras. there was also some shoes.... it was really eerie, and last night when my friends and i went on a night walk to get some thrills, my friend spotted out a white figure on the valley side of the trail, and sticks were being thrown at us. maybe some weirdo kids trying to pull a prank on us, but idk...

My father's brother and family lived on West Dead Creek Road very close to Whiskey Hollow in the 70's and 80's. In 1960's my parents built a home in the area but our well water was undrinkable, we trekked to Whiskey Hollow nearly ever week for years for our drinking water. My cousins and I took walks through the woods. I have driven through there as an adult. It is a beautiful unspoiled, natural area. There are so many myths - I think it's time for a reality check.Yes, there have been problems. It's always had a reputation as a "lover's lane". Teens have gathered at night to get high and have drinking parties. There have been people who target practice in the woods (which is dumb since people hike the area) A body of a murdered woman was dumped there (she was murdered elsewhere.) Personally, I have NEVER seen anything strange nor has anyone I know. I've done a lot of photography there, there has never been anything unusual on my images. I have never heard ANYONE cLaim to be cured by the water, though it is cold and tastes great. It is NOT unusual for a natural spring to not freeze - it's running water. The road is a bit more than a mile long, NOT five. There are several homes and farms in the area, barking dogs are NOT unusual. I don't think there is anything supernatural about the area. Anything supernatural that I've heard about sounds like group or mass hysteria. It's no creepier than any heavily wooded area. And if you aren't used to the outdoors then unpopulated woods can be scary at night even with only a moderate imagination. And, BTW, I do believe in the supernatural, I just don't think there is anything supernatural in Whiskey Hollow.

ALSO the history of the area is pretty neat... the neighborhood around whiskey hollow is known as "the kingdom" (and the road west of the hollow is named Kingdom road) legend has it that in the 1800's the area was known as Satan's Kingdom, but to prevent settlers from thinking it was a bad place to live, the name changed to just "The Kingdom".. It is proven that there have been KKK meetings and satanic cults, HENCE that it is illegal to go there at night! but people still go anyway. its very dark and you "see things". ive walked it at night with my buds and let me tell you, its pretty damn scary...

AnonymousVisiter NEW YORK US	omg i believe all of that! i went there 1 nite 2, and my friends and me saw a jeep on the side of the path, so we kept walknig by it.. went down to the cave where supposedly satan comes out from the earth from this cave, and we turned around and when the jeep was in sight two people came out of the jeep, but when they did, my frens and i BOOKED it into the woods! the jeep was slowly going up and down the trail..probly satan lovers OR just crazy hicks trying to find us so they could harm us! but after 15 mniutes we quietly followed the path and got outta there... never found the jeep thank god! ill never go there at night again

AnonymousVisiter ** US	my friends and me went one night b/c we heard it was a good party spot. i got the weirdest feeling the very instant we turned onto the road. we went a little past the pipe and walked to an overhang. as we were sitting around the lantern we'd brought,we began to see a flash of white going from one side of where we were to the other and back again. it looked like someone/something stalking or watching us. we immediately got our things and LEFT! we werent stickin around to find out wat the heck it was. we rushed back to the car and got in and drove off. we havent been back there since.

AnonymousVisiter VIRGINIA US	I personally think that whiskey hollow is haunted. A week ago my boyfriend and i went there and I got really good pictures. Hes not a believer of the paranormal but he was by the time we left. Didnt see any woman hanging from a tree or any kids walking down the road but we did catch other weird things on my digital camera. But I'm wondering why on one end of the road it says no entry at a certain time but on the other end there is no signs saying anything? And the apple orchard at the end of the road is haunted too, got some really good pictures of really nice orbs.
