Location Description:

Separated from the rest of the youth detention center facilities is an older brick building in a small field surrounded by woods. Not only are all possible entrances boarded up tight, but all holes through which one could even peer inside the place have been sealed in one manner or another. There have been reports of odd humming noises and other faint sounds coming from inside, and some people who have forcibly removed boards from windows to look inside reported seeing an odd, dim light. Noises are mainly reported to come from the basement entrance, which seemed to be locked up most heavily.

AnonymousVisiter ** CA	1056 No River Rd is the address. Spent 5 years as a resident of this facility and let me tell you, there is some history here. The entire grounds is haunted. The cottage they are speaking of just looks creepy. A couple of hundred years old. No one I know has ever been inside, all though some have tried. There are numerous hidden entrances with interlocking tunnels under the grounds. What I know of this particular cottage is that it was closed due to the alarming number of suicides and murders (by both staff and residence). The entire facility has a horrible past. I have had personal experiences in other cottages as have many. Some stories similar, other completely out of this world. But I believe them. The way the children who live there are treated and have been treated for many years is unbelievably horrible. And those who didn't make it out alive seem very unsettled. As you can imagine.

AnonymousVisiter	I stumbled on this place by accident,while walking through the woods.It is a real nice old building,its boarded up tight,the cells are very small as you can see one through a broken window in the basement,but dont think you can get inside bcoz of the bars on the windows.While resting on the steps in the back I clearly heard a voice of a young boy saying "let me out" ,it sent a chill through my body ,then i figured someone was playing a joke so I looked around but nobody there not even close to the building..I have pics if anyone wants one.

AnonymousVisiter N US	They are refering to Wilkins Cottage. It is a large several story building that sits at the far North end of the campus. There is a circular driveway around it and the shrubs outside are overgrown and unkempt. The building is boarded up secure and has been for at least 20 years.

AnonymousVisiter	i hav been to this placee. i went with one of my friends, its right next to the new ydc. we had to walk thru woods for ten minits to get there. the side door is kicked down so you can easily get in, its the only entrance but u shouldnt go into thiss place, we didnt last 5 minits, i seriously wanted to check every floor out but me n my friend split up n he called me practically crying saying hes lost. i found him but we wer both just way to freaked out!!!! plus we didnt find a way out so we had to climb out a window and down a fire escapee. it doesnt sound scary but u had to be therrr to no wat happedd. we went into ther with a camra and didnt take one photo. i no sum of you people will want to check this place outt for sum reasonn but i reaallllllllllyyyy wouldnt, ill never go bakk

AnonymousVisiter ** US	ive been inside this place.the outside of the building looks mad creepy, buts thats probably just cuz i was blasted at the time.inside wasnt to bad.it was pretty fun walking around in this old abandoned building with flashlights.but watch out, because when i went in it we found a dead raccon and a dead fox, so there are deffinitly wild animals in this place

AnonymousVisiter SOUTH CAROLINA US	I was one of the "lucky" ones who lived in Cox Cottage for awhile...heard stories...one was people used to take the old metal beds and lay under them and drop them (the leg of the bed) on their throats to kill themselves, not sure of the truth in it or not... AnonymousVisiter ** US	i use to live in the sanders cottage for a year and it was diagonal from that cottage... I heard a bunch of stories about the cox cottage but the sanders one was worse.. maybe because i heard some crazy things happen in there but idk... at night i really couldnt sleep and the night staff would be in the office and i would hear little faint girls voices giggling at the end of the halls... some nights i would hear foot steps going up and down the halls...i hated it there it was worse than the old show fear on mtv cuz you couldnt run... you were in a cell probly smaller that your bathroom all you could do i put your head under the pillow.... afraidofghosties Last Seen: 9/22/2010 8:38:27 PM	I worked for the constuction company that built the new addition to the YDC back in 2006, I believe it was. The place was very creepy early in the morning before the daylight broke and late at night. I used to take pictures at night and in the morning and got all kinds of orbs. The orbs were everywhere - in cars, in that old tower bldg everyone was talking about and even around the heads of the construction workers. Very creepy. Inside the trailors on the site, you would hear clicking, like a pen clicking off and on though I was the only one in the trailor. You could feel the thickness in the air and know that you weren't alone even though no other person was with you. I heard stories of a 10 year old that committed suicide in the old bldg and people still see the ghost - not sure if that is true or not. I wouldn't want to be there alone at night, that's for sure.

AnonymousVisiter ** US	as a kid i spent 60 days in wilkins cottage and 30 days in cox and i have to say wilkins in its day was a very well kept rather nice place as far as it being hauted i never seen or heard anything out of the norm also i have 2 boys that spent a good shear of their teen years up there moving from spolding king east sanders and never did they ever report anything strang going on up there and in july of 2010 my 17 year old was releast from the new building after spending the better part of the past 3 years there and again nothing strange

AnonymousVisiter	I was in the female building right to the boarded up cottage. N the staff had take us for a tour to the building. There's very for openings to look in but there was a small spot on window where u can see in n wen lookin in it I not only felt stress n horror I felt like I was looking into a place full of sufferin darkness(hard2 put exactly in words) n wen I looked in the key hole on door there was a extrely cold breeze comin out literally feelin like winter. Which was weird cuz it was 90 degree weather out! N we all who stay in girl cottages All heard noises at nite sometimes which wud wake us!!!

AnonymousVisiter - -	My dad lives in one of the buildings on the road that this house is off of. And it might just be my mind but when I would sleep there when I was little I swear to god I would hear screaming from that building. I would wake up my dad and he never heard anything. I would never go to that place. It's scary as hell.
