I worked there in the late 90's just towards the end of its run. It was haunted even when it was open. The stock room that use to be a pizza parlor next store was scary as hell. On quite nights in some of the back stock rooms you knew you were not alone! After it was shut down it was home to a few vagrents and vandals. Never went in after it was closed. Update: Spring of 2009 this building was torn down and no longer is there!

Im the original poster for this place. I had no idea it was haunted! It just looked creepy as fuck. I never went inside since their was such tight security. As far as I hear, it was the second chain store of Appleton and built in the 1950's. Wonder what was over that befor Kmart was their. Cemetary?

For some reason when the area got bad rain the parking lot would flood and it was deep. Well I heard in either 2002 or 2003 the area got a bad storm and the parking lot would flood. Well Children would play in the water and float on rafts and tubes. I know that part is true that kids would play in the water and floats and rafts I drove by one day and I saw the kids and I said omg that could be health danger there is not good things in the water and you can get sick. Well anyways I heard a kid drowned in the water and nobody new for a few weeks because he was alone. They didnt find the body till the water went down. There was alot of seaguls that would swarm this area probably because of the body in the water. I heard the spirit of the boy stays on the area scaring away people because he dont want anybody to get hurt especially after it rains.

I had always wanted to go to the abandoned KMart for some reason... I think I just want to go into an abandoned building period. I remember the giant pools of water in the parking lot over the years but I never heard anything about a boy drowning in the pools of water.
