Back in the Early Fifties and Mid Sixties there was a sighting of a Green Mist every one would see late at night and early in the mornings. I have witness this many times it would roll down ththis hill like fog but it was green, I do not know if this road still exist today but at the end of the road there was supposely a Secret Military Site That had a Electric Fence around it and a Arm Guard and no one was allowed in their. And everyone said that is where the Green Mist was coming from. To get their as I remember you would drive on Carbon Canyon Road and right after Sleepy Hallow their was this lonely road that headed west. Good Luck!!!

Yeah the military contracted with Aerojet to make weapons such as Mustard Gas and Uranium Depleted Missles. A new expensive housing devlopment is being built all around the old Aerojet facility. It took years for it to get approved because of the toxic levels of chemicals and uranium in the ground. The dirt had to be dug out and replaced. Aerojet is still there, abandoned and no longer used since 1995. Aerojet is the
Pentagon`s largest supplier of DU weapons, producing 60 percent of all
DU penetrator bullets.

Actually this one, but I bet they are related...I went in person to check it out and the fence is still there. I will be going back again tomorrow, I will take photos of the facility.

Well a couple of buddies of mine and i went downt there and as we were walking down the road we saw some big black thing run across the road and into a gate. It stopped by the gate and didnt continue on so i stared for a while and the thing was really huge so i ran back down the road. without stopping....what im simply asking is... What else do you know about this road?

Was driving back from Brea one day, Brea Canyon to Carbon Canyon Rd. in my convertible. Saw nothing but kept hearing over and over "this is a witch, this is a witch". Felt nothing either, but didn't know why I kept hearing "this is a witch" repeatedly, never having had anything at all to do with witch-craft myself. It was like a whispering close to my ear. Got home and forgot about it but went to a Bible study later the same evening. I'd no more than sat down when the facilitator looked at me and said "so get rid of it". I immediately knew what she was talking about. Silently told it (or her) to leave in the name of Jesus, and kind of waved my hand toward the screen door across from the side of the sofa I was sitting on, and it departed, never to be heard from again by me. Also, I used to work for Aerojet, Corporate Hdqtrs. back when they were still in El Monte. I'm not sure if it was the facility in Chino or not, but my boss once told me of a research facility where if you walked across a certain area in one of the rooms, the radiation in it was so strong, your panty hose would just disinegrate right then and there (don't know if I spelled that right). There were a couple other less than cool things she mentioned to do with it too, so my best advice would be that if they're posting guards to keep people away, and having to replace the dirt and all that, it's probably for your own safety, and it might be wise to just stay away and forget about it, regardless of the temptation.

Aerojet is a 900 acre facility and  tested many weapons and rocket fuels in the 50s to 95, and are still cleaning up the site.  The security guards are from Burns Security and are unarmed. No they dont have electric fences and never did. I've been inside the facility many times when i was younger, Its very easy to get in. The back way you have to hike pretty far, but only have small cow fences, but the front way is intimidating though, with barbed wire fences. They have a few guards, one in the guard shack and one that patrols and checks the magazine storage areas., one for excavation and cleanup sites. Back when I explored Aerojet they only had one guard! The main road they have a camera and intercom and fence before u get to the main guardshack which is located at the top. Sometimes its open in the day for the guards/clean up crews and one farmer named Bud, that owns farmland in Aerojet and all over chino hills. But usually its closed, and if you try to go that way they will tell you to leave. They beefed up the security in the past years but it used to be easy to get into. I have detailed maps of when it was still in business of all the buildings/test sites, and two of my friends stole over 40 munitions from the underground magazine storage buildings. Building 014 to be exact.. They were arrested back in 2003 you may have seen it in the paper or on the news. (thats why they upgraded the security). They took landmines (metal and plastic "dragon tooth" landmines), 75mm anti aircraft shells, bullets of all types and sizes, mortars, grenades (hand and launcher type, blasting caps and more. We used to go through the site and explore it, even spend the night up there a bunch of times! Ive been inside one magazine that had thousands of munitions labelled, such as ladmines, mortars, DU tipped bullets, anti aircraft shells, other explosives and powders, and a bunch of weird stuff. Really fun to explore when your a kid and interested in the weapons testing facility no one really knows about. But now my friends and I know all about it from going there, talking to guards/workers and doing lots of research. About the green mist, yes we've seen it at night and early morning its trippy, Ive heard its from the phosphates in the ground that give it the green tint, but who knows, and ive only seen it around aerojet in the hills and canyons. You may also have heard about "Pigman" if you live in chino hills/ aerojet area. :) Everyones story is different about green mist and pigman, but I can tell you that one of the guards was scared when he saw a bunch of people back in the hills at night, they were wearing weird costumes. Thats what he told me at least.  Maybe they were doing some ritual, or maybe just messing around, who knows! I know a lot about aerojet feel free to ask me anything, I enjoy talking about it and sharing my experiences, but i dont recommend that you try and get into the facility at all. Not much to see anymore except run down buildings and excavation cleanup sites. If you want to see a part of aerojet and some buildings, then go to the new housing development called Vellano, follow Woodview Road all the way up, from one of the streets you can look down into a part of aerojet with the main office building and some others! See it while you can if your interested, one day soon they be torn down.. but they said that 5 years ago too! haha....LLA! Aerojet 4 Life!!

And in regards to that link above -"living next to a war factory" the kid they talk about finding machine gun ammo is my friend, one of my friends that broke in and stole munitions a few years later haha!.. and Fred is his dad. They live on Bayberry and their backyard is right up to woodview road, right down the street from Aerojet, thats party why we got so interested in it, because we literally were right next to a "war factory:... there is some info on Aerojet if you google it, but not much. If you really wana know you can ask me id be happy to share info!

I grew up in Chino 20 years ago and my friends and I would go up to Aerojet to check it out at night and were always stopped by the guard. We knew Aerojet was there but I was never aware of what they actually did but the information I read on here about it is so interesting. It makes me wat to take a drive to Green Mist and check it out again.

If your going through Carbon Canyon towards Brea you have to make a U-Turn because it's not in that direction lol. There was a emergency road that connected to Aerojet, it is at the very end of Old Carbon Canyon rd. You can still see the gate leading up the back way I think.. but it doesnt go through anymore because it leads to the new housing development there.. The main road, and only road leading there is at Woodview Rd. and Peyton Ave... follow the road on the left leading down to Heaven's Ranch, and the gated road on the right leads to Aerojet. If it's open you can go half way up and youll get stopped at the second gate, where there is a camera, and intercom.  The guard shack is all the way at the top but unless the gates are open for the clean-up crew's trucks, you wont get that far. They will tell you to turn around anyways.  There are other ways into Aero if you hike ; ). But I dont recommend that!  They will call the cops if you tresspass but the guards don't carry guns so they won't shoot you! Oh and Pigman is a Chino Hills myth, Ive heard lots of different stories but supposably some pigman guy roamed around in the hills of Aerojet, and also carried a green lantern, people have said they have seen it at night. Ive heard of people seeing weird creatures around there, but ive never seen anything! Except for a dieing cow that was making loud crazy sounds!

That sounds reasonable haha, ive never heard that one before. The only farmer I know around Aerojet, besides at Heaven's Ranch,  is an old farmer named Bill Friend, AKA Bud. He owns farmland on Aerojet property and around it as well. I see him driving around Chino Hills all the time to his various land that he owns (also off of butterfield road). He drives a newish, tan ford flatbed truck and usually has two dogs with him. He lives in Yorba Linda from what I know, but yea if it was any farmer it couldave been him or a friend becuase hes always been going in and out of Aero to take care of his cows and stuff. Must have been  his or his family property before Aerojet was even built in the 50's. I got this info about Bud from an employee at Aerojet, and have also personally seen him with his dogs several times entering and exiting Aerojet while riding my bike up the road with my friends. Ive been in his farm "sheds" or w.e you wana call them 5 years ago, just a bunch of hay and cows on his property. Lots of really old farm buildings and stuff, broken down and rusted, only a few seemed to be in use anymore. But thats all I know about the farmer Bud!

Hi, nothing happend to the people living at Heaven's Ranch.  I know the people that own it and used to go there occasionaly. There has been some law suits a long time ago about the Depleted Uranium and its link to some cases of cancer in Chino Hills (people that lived on Beyberry rd.). But theyve never been proved from what I know. And I dont think there really is a problem with that anyways. There mainly cleaning up all of the unexploded ordinance found in the ground from all those years of testing. But of course if someone gets cancer and they happen to live "near" Aerojet, it wouldnt suprise me if they would sue for millions these days. But to answer your question, theres nothing peculiar about Heaven's Ranch.

i actually hiked up the mountin because i was stopt at the second gate wher theirs a camera and we whent up the hill and thers a dirt road at the top that also leads in right by a horse stable, this was around 1;00 Am. the thing is where to start! the place is so huge and thers so meany buildings every wher all over and far apart. eny one knows about the best section of aero jet ????? let me know hit me up at cpjv.1987@yahoo.com looking for people who are down to explore. we are about 5 people and growing.

iwhentuptherabout 3 days ago around 10pm and we hiked up the mountin trough this horse trail we made it to a gate wher thers a horse stable i think we whent inside to wher thers a antena with a red light at the top you can see it at night. nothing so grate about tyhe place. this is the funny part, why do they secure the place so much? i remember when we wher sneeking in a gard would drive around evry 5 minuts trough out the whole place we had to keep ducking down, and this was at 11pm, i think that contaminated area is just a cover up to keep people out, i think they are hiding somthing ther,because if you think about it if it wer really contaminated as BAD as they say why did they let new housing be biult all around ther? and why do they even still guard it so Bad! if it a OLD ABANDON USLESS base? isnt the guard afraid of being contaminated? i see them careless flashing ther flashlights outside ther cars when they pass by. I dont know it a bit weard for methat they go trough all that to keeppeople out. to meany flaws in the reason why they do it if u ask me. they are hiding somthing eals!

someone told me that it is toxic and that aerojet would bury their toxic waste in the ground, but they wouldn't keep it in the those metal barrels, they would put the waste in trashbags so it wouldn't be detected with metal detectors.

i can't believe that chino hills houses are so darn expensive with all that contamination.

so all in all, dont drink the water in chino hills. haha. i know i don't.

I used to live in Chino Hills from 1984-1996, and attended Don Lugo HS from '84-'87. I used to live in the neighborhood off of Peyton Dr & Glen Ridge near Townsend JHS. There were many stories floating around about what went on at Aerojet, but all in all, it was just a munitions manufacturing and testing site. The hilltop where the plant bldgs. are located actually contained several underground levels with a hugh elevator for trucks to fit inside. The lowest level contained the munitions test bunker where ammo was test fired into the hillside through cement-lined tubes constructed at various lengths with instrumentation to measure munitions reliability. The other levels above housed machine rooms, and tooling stations, along with a cafeteria, offices, and resting area for employees. The munitions were stored outside the main area in bunkers for safety reasons mandated by OSHA to avoid a potential disaster underground as the payloads tend to degrade with age, and can become unstable. Many times, I could hear the tests being conducted at Aerojet during the mid-day shift. The sound was similar to a Howitzer being fired. In the mid-80s, there was a flash fire that happened in one of the underground lab rooms, but it was quickly contained by personnel. There was a brief article about the incident printed in the Chino Champion newspaper, shortly thereafter. As for the Green Mist, there were several vents located around the plant grounds to release any residual gases accumulated after testing. This was slowly released at night, and was mixed with inert phosphate to keep it low to the ground. the EPA and AQMD would not allow the plant to release it into the air directly. Therefore, the gases being released at night would mix with the moisture in the night air, and create a fog as described. The reference to the 'Pig Man' is just a legend. It was a ficticious story dreamt up by a couple of kids who grew up in the Los Serranos area in the 70's, and the legend continues to be promoted even today. I do know about Bill Friend; the farmer who owns the land around Aerojet. He owns land in Riverside county, as well. The land was deeded to the family since the early-mid 40s when orange groves were common throughout the Brea/Placentia area. With land quickly becoming expensive in value for farming, many farmers moved to the Inland Empire where land was cheaper & plentiful at the time. From what I've heard, the original plan was to plant orange groves, but shortly after the land purchase, the gov't approached the land owner with imminent domain clause to take a portion of the land for the Aerojet plant. A land swap took place where the land owner was given some acreage in Riverside county in exchange for the Aerojet plant site. Aerojet officials disclosed the nature of the plant's operations to the extent that they told the land owner not to grow any produce for human consumption because of the risk of contamination leaching into the soil and water table. Herding and grazing were deemed acceptable as the risk was contained to the livestock. I am not sure if the livestock was sold for consumption, but it is very well possible. I hope this helps you!

Yes. I worked for a large helicopter company at the Chino airport and we flew over this site daily along with the Aerojet site. The cult site you talk about has a large property that has a statue on a large hill all by itself. We flew over it alot and noticed that there was a sign next to the statue, even though it was located "in the boonies" so one of our pilots one day finally decided to land to see what the sign said and if it explained why there was a statue in the middle of no where with no access other than a very long walk. the pilot landed close by and then hiked overto the statue through the tall dead grass that covered the hill. Once he got to the statue he read the sign that was at it's base. The sign read "Beware of rattlesnakes"!!! We got a great laugh later when he returned and told us the story. Another time a different pilot landed there and someone approached him from the land owners. They were very nice but did ask that we not land there as it was a religous retreat. I also spoke with someone from there on this incident about not landing there. They could not have been any nicer about it. most people would have been pissed, but they were great!!!

I hiked up to the Carbon Canyon Cult a few weeks ago. There wasn't really a trail, we were hiking through snake infested shrubs. We finally made it to the Cult and we hopped the fence and were illegally trespassing, we ran up to the statue (it's a white box with windows and inside is a statue of st. joseph) and took a picture with it then ran back off the land. There is nothing satanic about it and there's not sign next to the statue either. I'm surprised we didn't get caught cause we were such a large group of people. Looked like they drove dirt bikes around the land too. Wouldn't want to get chased by one of those!
