Location Description:

At Mount Hope Cemetery in North Attleboro, there exists a haunted statue of Jesus that supposedly, if you stare at from afar, it begins to perform humorous dance moves! The statue is easy to locate. It is a white statue, and it has both arms raised into the air, with it`s feet covered by bushes. We have actually investigated this claim, and surprisingly, found it to be true!

anonymous461 Last Seen: 4/5/2009 1:30:18 PM	We went there today to checkout the "Dancing Jesus Statue", which we did find, but apparently, Jesus wasn't in a dancing kinda mood... For those of you who are curious where the statue is located, it's in the back of the cemetery. You can't really miss it, as it's a huge lifelike statue, and it's actually red in color - not white. It also appears to be the only colored monument in that area of the cemetery. This cemetery is really not that creepy at all. It appears to be a public cemetery, with people still being buried there.

AnonymousVisiter T US	This statue is not in Mount Hope Cemetery it is in Saint Mary's Cemetery. I have worked at Saint Mary's Cemetery since 1997 and have never seen the statue dance.

AnonymousVisiter	my house is directly across the street from the entrance to the cemetary on the towne street side i have investigated the matter of the dancing statue myself and found that it is merely a matter of your eyes playing tricks on you. . .. . i have however been in there many a times at various wee hours of twilight and once witnessed what i gathered as a man in blues jeans and a white t-shirt leaning against a tree at about 2 am I didnt stick around to see if the james deanesque man was real or not but as i 23 year old man i do beleive there is things in that cemetary although common believe is spirits haunt where they die and not where they are laid to rest. . there is things that happen in there and on my property that i deem truthful pertainging to actual hauntings . . . please do not attempt the approach my property authorities will be notified

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I've lived in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, my whole entire life, and have visited the Saint Mary's/Mount Hope Cemetery over dozens of times. I live very close to it, only a couple minutes away. I've seen this statue before; actually, the hand of the statue has been broken off. Sad, sad, sad. But anyways, what you said is not the REAL story of the Red Jesus Statue, y'know. 'Cause I've heard from multiple people, who have lived here for their whole lives as well, another: So, the statue's hands are spread open in the air, right? So, AT NIGHT, it supposedly moves its hands as if it's trying to tell you to come to it. I've been to the cemetery at night with one of my friends, and from far away, this statue looked like it was moving. However, we went closer -- like, literally right up to it -- to find out that it wasn't moving and it was just a trick of the mind. You should really get your facts straight before you say anything. The Red Jesus Statue does not do stupid dance moves, it doesn't do anything at all! It's just a large statue of Jesus in red. Though I have heard another story about a Mary Statue. =P

APP_TJ Last Seen: 6/30/2010 10:38:38 AM	June 30th 2010 Hello all, I run the APP (attleboro project paranormal) team, of course located in Attleboro. We have seen this statue many of times being the main attraction in N.Attleboro MA, but yet like other comments we have not seen him bust a move. But one things that should be known is the statue isnt in Mount Hope, Mount Hope is a huge cemetery and it is split down the end where the statue is, the statue is in St Mary's end of the cemetery. We will tho, APP, will be going there again this July 3d to see it once more. And if there is any changes in this artical we will post up. (excuse spelling)

AnonymousVisiter ** US	I just saw a picture of this statue. If you ask me Jesus has his arms and hands up in the air with an expression on his face that says "I give up, these people are just plain nuts, and I'm embarrassed to be standing here in Attleboro. Couldn't I be somewhere in the tropics?" And I use to live on Fuller Rd, where some many were fulla everything. Glad I moved to California when I was 16. But they are just as fulla stuff here too. Very funny. :)

AnonymousVisiter	i lived next to the cemetery for three years and i have never seen the statue dance it is clearly the opticle illusion but i have seen many unexplaned things in certain parts of that cemetery and in my back yard of my apartment. i do believe there is such things of hauntings in there and serounding areas. i have seen shadows in the mid of night when there are no lights in the area. one time my friends and i have walked through out the cemetery at nine at night and saw unexplained things near a childs grave. the river in the back hs also have appearences of an apperition. do not attemp to find anything in my yard the athorites will be notified!

AnonymousVisiter - -	I myself went to the cemetary today and Jesus was not dancing. But I did take my EVP recorder and got some good EVPs. The spirits there seem nice and very willing to talk. Its such a beautiful place and I will go again soon :)
