Location Description:         
 

It is said that it is haunted by the original caretaker. When you get to the room where the children lived you feel a strange presence. In the first room at the entrance if you look at the picture while your going up the stairs you see the eyeballs on the picture of the caretaker you see them watching you. Also when you go up to the second story people mostly females get pushed at a male if they seem to be a perfect couple.

Ive Been There At least Four times. I Live Like Seven Houses Down. i Goto Anaheim high. On multiple Occasions Me And My friends Have Wandered Around. It Isnt Really Haunted But its Extremely Eerie Like You Get Weird Sensations Being There,Also If Youre Walking Next To it and youre looking at the very Top Window {attic} On Your Left You Can See A Women Watching You And she never leaves but in the day you cant seee her.The Attic Is Closed,Like Not Even On Tours Do They Let You Go Up There. Alot Of People Break in There,Especially On Holloween. The reason Some People Say That They See People inside Is Because 3 old ladys care for the house. Its An Okay Place.

The old lady or lady's you see are in fact the care takers.  I forget the name of the ladies club that owns it?

There's the Mother Colony house (one-story), which is next door to the Woelke-Stoffel house (Red Cross House)(three-story Victorian-style house). The third floor tier room where the nursery is located is where on the Mother Colony house side. One could see the curtains move and seeing a silhouette of a man (Peter Stoffel, Jr.) looking out towards the street. This is long after the house has been locked-up for the night. One could hear furniture moving up on the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor. Lights would have turned up in the dead of night and no one would be there. The two photographs that are on the landing once you walk over the threshold, on your left are Mr. Peter Stoffel, Jr. and his wife Johanna. Yes, if you look at the portrait it does look like he is following you up the stairs. He is "watching" over his beloved house---a beautiful and well-preserved home where he raised his ten children. I recently went to the re-dedication (on Friday Dec. 12) of the house presented by the City of Anaheim. This is a historical home and not many are left. I say keep an open mind.

i was there the other day with sum of my friends. and we were just walkin by and we got a weird vibe off the house so we approached it. we knew it was a historical site but didnt know much about it. we saw a light on on the 2nd floor. we saw the painting stair at us. we saw dools moving on the 2nd floor(left bedroom).we heard glass break from inside.i happened to see a girl in the window staring down at us. my friends said they saw an elderly woman staring down at them in the back of the house. and yea just creepy. mite go back to investigate. hopefully the spirits that lie there are friendly.

omgg i use to live like a block from there. i walked by it to go to school everyday. i went into the mother house on a field trip. it was creepy! but i never got to go into the red cross. but yea i always stared while i walked by lol especially on halloween  when i would go trick or treating to the houses next to it. man was i always all paranoid. good memories tho. creepy was also the big huge tree thats next to the mother house.  aww i miss anaheim!

i remeember wen meh nd my bro went to see it one nite at around 11:00 pm nd we saw a guy looking thru a window nd the curtain on da other side closed. we didnt kno it was a historical place nd i was selling chocolates so we decied to knock nd nobody opened but we saw a shadow go fast by... my bro opened da door nd i sooon as we wlked in we felt cold nd frightened but we decicded to keeep going. we were walking up da stirs but then we ran away kuz we saw a woman wit a fuked up face nd we heard kids crying nd screaming... i hav nevr been bak evr since. i am planned to do so next time again but dis time ima go stoned kuz i heard dat u see things othr ppl cant see wen ur stoned

omg my fam and i went today and the tourists didnt believe us that the house was haunted but they also didnt let us go up the attic we saw the little girl's outfit on a stick with socks underneath it was extremely scary.ps the day was 5/26/12. good luck for the people who are looking forward to going

Yes it is. Anyway the reason why the portrait looks at you is because it's a hologram! It is designed to do that. Giving you an illusion that it is looking at you. The portrait is on the left side of the entrance room.
