Location Description:

The Salem-Shotwell Covered Bridge is said to be haunted by the ghost of two children who were killed there in a car accident. The bridge is closed and out in the middle of the woods. Supposedly, if you put candy on the bridge after dusk, the kids will come and take it.

The bridge was destroyed by a fallen tree in 2005 at its original location. It was rebuilt at Opelika Municipal Park in 2007.

This is a duplicate listing. Anyways, according to locals, no such accident ever happened at or near the Salem-Shotwell Covered Bridge. There was a girl who was strangled at the bridge many years ago, documented by police officials who worked the case.

Hey.  The bridge does have paranormal activity.  The ghost of a little girl resides around it and has been seen by other children willing to interact and play with them.  This true story can be found and many others like it in the book Haunted Auburn/ Opelika

If you put candy on the bridge, I will come and take it. It won't be long before one can find the Haunted book at a dollar store. That's how bad the drivel really is! The authors are crazy and use hokey "technology" to sell their madness. FAKE.
