All of the "could be possible" speculations about this monument are total BS.  I've lived behind this cemetary for about 15 years now, in fact I used to walk through it every day to get home from school.  Its a giant cemetery so yes, it's creepy...  But other than that, there is nothing paranormal about it.  There are no holes drilled in the eyes of that sculpture, thats part of the sculpture itself, it's meant to be the iris...  Blood never drips from the hands, at times the statue is stained because of some dumbass teen playing a joke.  Let's be real people and respect that this is a resting place, not a haunted theme park...

When I went into this cemetary when I was about 16 (Now 27) I sat at the grave with the girl & cross. My emotions ran from sad to creeped out! The statue is beautiful... and at first I was washed with a feeling of pure sadness... when I sat down on the steps of the stone... I got this sensation of fear. My stomache dropped and felt knotted. I'm not sure if anyone else has heard this but coming from the top of the hill where the barn is... I heard what sounded like a shotgun being fired. Those were my experiences but I was also there during the day. I've since moved to Montana but I plan to go back to Wisconsin for Halloween and checking this place out again is at the top of my list!

Yeah. There was also the image of a skull cast but we found out that if you shined a light similar to moonlight on a grave stone, it bounced off 2 other headstones and reflected a shadow in the shape of a skull. The girl dripping blood thing, very possible. I've seen it. However we wonder if someone put a spout or something in there. I go running through there in the afternoons sometime to take a shortcut back to school. Her eyes have been drilled into.. Maybe we should look into the person who's buried at that grave?

Yeah, I just got back about an hour ago from LaBelle, and the statue is quite beautiful, really. It did give me a very odd sensation, being near it. Actually, her left arm seemed to be colder than the rest of the statue. I reccomend checking it out!

I did see that her eyes had been drilled into, but there were no traces of blood on the hands. I left a penny in them! :)

I always put pennies in her hands. There is something very eerie about it, but i have never actually seen anything. I feel putting pennies there protects me or something.

did you feel winded when you reached the Kohl Moselium? and did you smell beer? i went there with some friends and we were all tired and we smelled beer. We didnt find any beer cans there. if you close at the statue you can read the dates. she died i believe after all of her family that is buried next to her. I am from Oconomowoc originally and there are other sightings in the cemetray as well. when you first pull in,your lights can hit a certain headstone and you will see a man hanging in a tree i think is how the story goes.

i can say i went there a few years back and some friends thought it was funny to drive off leaving behind me and another friend for 5 min. and that was the scariest 5 mins of my life. I got the feeling like someone was watching me and at one point someone had brushed up against me and i could feeling breathing on my neck. you could hear weird sounds! Also we heard that in her hands was always a penny and i think a marbel in the other and if you removed one things would happen. I also thought there was a story that the girl had a boyfriend who killed himself and then she drowned herseld

La Belle Cemetery located in Oconomowoc, Waukesha County is location of a granite statute of a young woman standing near a cross. The story is told that sometimes an apparition of the girl is seen walking from the statute and drowning herself in the nearby Lake Fowler. Others have said to have seen her come to life and walk into Lac LaBelle (which is some distance away). It has also been told that the hands on the statue sometimes drip blood.

When visiting the cemetery, one finds the Surname Nathusius carved on the statue. Directly in front of the statue are buried:

Father Carl (1830-1921)
Mother Louise (1832-1917)
Brother Wilhelm (1865-1945)
Daughter Carolina (1865-1952)

Another interesting history of this cemetery is that it isn't the original.  The original cemetery was established in 1851 called the Oconomowoc Cemetery.  When they decided they needed more area, they moved the cemetery to it's current location which is now the La Belle Cemetery.  This move occurred in 1864.  The bodies from the old cemetery were moved to the new location.

Yeah, Lac La Belle would be a long walk when Fowler lake is so much closer!

i just got back from Lac LaBelle Cemetery i went with three friends and we where walking to get to the statue when we heard the crypt's door knocking like wind was moving it but it seemed to be a big heavy door and there was no wind or people near it because we paused and looked straight at it with out lights. none the less we did not make if much farther.

The LaBelle cemetery is a beautiful serene place to walk through.I think that people let their imaginations get the best of them. It's an old high school trick using your head lights to make the reflection on the crypt.

When I went the first time visiting me and my friend both heard a very distinct scratching noise comming from one of the graves, on the way in and out. Then we went a second time with more people and heard it again. Not sure what it could have been but it freaked me out.

My Grandfather is burried by the Kohl Vault at the top of the hill.  This is a very emotional place for me, but I do not believe there are any evil spirits in the cemetery.  I have been visiting since the 1970s.  Wish they had not built that new neighborhood behind the place...  It doesn't look right.
