We had been playing with the idea for this site for years, but in June of 06 we
actually got around to doing it. We love to see weird stuff, and judging by the
15k miles on the 2006 car... I guess you can say we like to drive. We noticed that
most sites that specialize in weird or haunted places lack some basic features
that we wanted.
Examples:
Search stories/listings.
Membership.
Contacting other members.
Profiles.
Grouping.
Letting members submit media of each location.
Comments
Ratings.
Maps.
Member based moderation.
Also, having a single page with thousands of listings in the same state, was a bit
rough for us to use. Also we found it insanely time consuming to research all this
information out there. Plus the lack of address's made it nearly impossible to pick
5 places in a rough area, get the locations, plan the trip, and complete it in 1
night.
Thus the site was born... We have devoted ALL of our spare time for years now to researching
these places, posting address's, and trying to make sure that any place listed,
has an accurate description. Also, with the hand picked moderators in the site,
we have superb quality over other sites. Thanks to the moderators, spam, and fake
information is quickly flagged and removed, to guarantee that YOU don't waste your
time.
While we would LOVE to only have personal experiences posted on this site, it is
impossible for us to check out every story.... It would take us a lifetime. So you will
likely run into a few bunk places. But, that is part of being a 'ghost hunter' or
'investigator'.
When/If that happens we STRONGLY encourage you to come on and let us know! make
sure others don't waste their time as well.
And vice versa, if you see an awesome place, come on in, post your story, and your
pictures! we would love to read it!
